  Cyberspace Team
Review fo the ICANN New gTLD Draft Applicant Guidebook

The Cyberspace Team reviewed the ICANN New gTLD Draft Applicant Guidebook published in late November 2008 and submitted formal comments drafted by Council Member Nick Wood to ICANN in December 2008.

In this submission, MARQUES asked ICANN to respond appropriately to the recent downturn in the world economy and to postpone the broad introduction of new gTLDs, pending an independent study into the economic impact of the changes. MARQUES also asked ICANN to assess formally the Pre- and Post-Launch Rights Protection Mechanisms proposed by applicants, failing those applications with inadequate measures.  See the comments in full here [http://www.marques.org/Elink?ID=0045].
