The European
Commission is currently evaluating the trade mark systems in Europe. For
that purpose, DG Markt will launch a survey through the European Business
Test Panel (EBTP), which is a unique tool allowing the European Commission
to obtain direct feedback from businesses on Commission legislative
proposals or initiatives likely to have an impact on businesses.

World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) |

On the 1 October
the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) Officially
appointed Mr Francis Gurry as Director General. Jane Collins,
Chairman of MARQUES
and on behalf of the association has congratulated Mr Gurry on his
appointment.
MARQUES looks
forward to continuing its close relationship with WIPO. |

Publications & Website Team are working on a new design for the
MARQUES
website. The new design will give the website a more modern look
as well as bringing improved navigation and functionality to the site.
The new site is expected to be unveiled at the
MARQUES
Winter Meeting in February. |
