  Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement  
  MARQUES has sent a letter to the EC Commission welcoming the recent proposal to negotiate a new Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA). In this letter, MARQUES registers its full support to this initiative aimed at promoting a strong legal framework to combat counterfeiting and to enforce intellectual property rights. This paper has been signed by the President of MARQUES, Ms. Jane Collins, and the Chair of the MARQUES Anticounterfeting and Parallel Trade Team, Mr. Joachim Hofmann.   Changes to Russian IP Legislation  
  On January 1, 2008 the new Part IV of the Russian Civil Code will come into force. Part IV introduces important changes in the Russian IP Legislation, further the State Duma Expert Council has recommended several amendments to be made to Part IV.  
 
 
   
  IP Outer Borders Team  
The IP Outer Border Team is looking at national legislation concerning the use or abuse of religious symbols and need your help to compile a global report on this issue.
