Plum GI protection for Romanian marmalade
Commission Implementing Regulation 338/2011 of 7 April 2011 entering a name in the register of protected designations of origin and protected geographical indications (Magiun de prune Topoloveni (PGI)) has now been published.
The newly-protected term Magiun de prune Topoloveni is a Romanian marmalade made from ripe plums. An important contributor to the sub-Carpathian economy, this product is said to be made by a traditional process. You can read the details of the specification here.
