Topshop trouble in Norway
The popular Topshop retail fashion chain has reportedly cancelled its plan to enter the Norwegian market after failing to secure registration of its name Topshop registered. Vinni, a smaller Norwegian shop, has long had this mark, which you can find in the Norwegian Patentstyret database under registration number 187821 (the corresponding Topshop marks can be found at numbers 200909158 and 200709225).

The owner of the earlier mark, Mr Baljinder Singh Pandher, fought long and hard on behalf of his shop's mark; having succeeded, he is now challenging Topshop's internet sales to customers Norway, and might even succeed in this (click here for details, which you may need to translate using an appropriate online translator).
