Latest GI Regs cover basil, beans and honey
Three new Regulations have been published this morning which relate to geographical indications in the European Union. They are
* Commission Regulation 611/2010 of 12 July 2010 approving minor amendments to the specification for a name entered in the register of protected designations of origin and protected geographical indications (Basilico Genovese (PDO)). The amendments covering this delicious basil relate to the packaging of display of the product in question and to the use of the product logo (right), the EU PDO logo and the producer's own signs.

Commission Regulation 612/2010 of 12 July 2010 entering a name in the register of protected designations of origin and protected geographical indications (Fasola korczyńska (PGI)). Fasola korczyńska is the dried seed of a Polish dwarf bean.

Commission Regulation 613/2010 of 12 July 2010 entering a name in the register of protected designations of origin and protected geographical indications (Miód kurpiowski (PGI)). Miód kurpiowski is a nectar honey, with the possible inclusion of some honeydew.
