Pepsi swallows Sobol

Another European brand has fallen to a US conqueror: this time it's the Russian Sobol brand. According to CNN, PepsiCo Inc. and its sister company Pepsi Bottling Group Inc. have acquired Russian beverage company Sobol-Aqua JSC through a joint venture, PR Beverages Ltd. The financial terms of the deal, which is expected to close in the second quarter of 2008, were not disclosed.
