Belgian franchise establishes market foothold in France

Forbes.com has reported that Belgian-based supermarket group Delhaize SA has now pushed its Tom&Co animal centre brand into France. The first of its French franchisees has opened in Hellemmes, near Lille. This is said to be the first step in the expansion of the brand in France, building on the 'strong growth' of the name in Belgium. There are now 123 Tom&Co stores spread across Belgium, Luxembourg and France, with a further 15 being planned in 2008.
